Insights into JobRouter® 2026.1
The most important new features at a glance
AI Agents – Available in Every Process!
The highlight of Release 2026.1 is the integration of AI agents into processes. For the first time, process designers can embed AI agents as a system activity in any process step. These agents access existing master data, workflow data, and documents, analyze them, and continue processing fully automatically.
Instead of automating complex approvals and review steps purely through rules, the agent handles the task contextually and with the help of historical data. Important to note: our AI agents are subject to JobRouter’s existing permission and compliance model, are fully auditable, and ensure internal governance.
For users, this brings tremendous relief in daily work, as AI agents can take over tasks within invoice processing, for example by:
- comparing invoices with purchase order and goods receipt data,
- evaluating deviations and providing the results for review,
- automatically generating and justifying account assignment suggestions based on historical data.
This opens up new possibilities for process automation in JobRouter®. Tasks can be handled faster and more intelligently because AI not only processes text, but works directly with the relevant data and documents in JobRouter®.
The new function will initially be made available as part of a cloud-first beta program in order to gather experience and additional use cases and gradually optimize the offering. Interested on-premises customers can view and test the feature in the demo cloud.

Modern Forms – Even More Flexible
Modern forms also receive important enhancements with Release 2026.1. Forms can now be provided in multiple languages. For process designers, this means one dialog can be used in several languages without needing to maintain separate forms.
In addition, data sources can now be parameterized. This allows content in form elements to be determined dynamically. For example, instead of displaying all contacts for all suppliers, the contact list for a specific supplier can be loaded selectively.
In addition, further JavaScript API functions are now available for modern forms. This gives process designers more options to make modern forms even more dynamic and flexible.

JobRouter® for Outlook: Start Processes Directly from Emails
The JobRouter® for Outlook integration is getting new features: process designers can define start steps that allow users to launch processes directly from the Outlook add-in. Process initiation can be based on email content, metadata, and attachments. This makes it possible to transfer incoming emails into JobRouter® processes even more directly and without media disruption.
In addition, the add-in supports Outlook categories. These can be assigned automatically when emails are archived or when processes are started based on an email. JobRouter® for Outlook is an extension of the existing add-in and, if licensed, can be obtained via the Microsoft Store.

Remote Client – File Transfers in the Cloud
With the Remote Client in the cloud, exchanging files between the JobRouter® cloud and the remote company network becomes significantly easier. Files can now be transferred without FTP or VPN.
This is especially relevant for processes where files need to be processed automatically. JobStart can monitor remote directories and start processes directly when new files are detected. Conversely, files can also be written from processes into remote directories.
This function is available for the cloud only.
New REST Routes for User Management
For developers, Release 2026.1 introduces new REST routes for user management. User accounts can now be created, modified, and listed via the REST API. Another new feature is the ability to retrieve permissions for individual users or multiple users via the REST API.
This simplifies integration, as only one API needs to be connected for these tasks going forward. The new functions replace the corresponding methods of the previous SOAP service.
